Concluding observations of the CRC

Following a review of Israel’s combined second, third and fourth periodic reports under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child has published its Concluding Observations with recommendations, and expressed its “deepest concern about the reported practice of torture and ill-treatment of Palestinian children arrested, prosecuted and detained by the military and the police”. The Committee again confirmed the application of the CRC to the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza (“occupied Palestine”) and was critical of the Israeli government’s “persistent refusal to provide information and data” on Palestinian children living in these locations.
